KEAust has executed the following design projects for clients in Western Australia over the past 5 years:
Project: Great Northern Highway Four Floodways - Waterway Design and Concept Road Alignment
Client: Main Roads WA – Kimberley Region.
Description: Main Roads Western Australia is progressively upgrading waterway crossings on the Great Northern Highway (GNH) in the Kimberley Region with the aim to improve waterway serviceability and road geometry.
Our work included detailed waterway designs for four floodways on Great Northern Highway as well as concept road design to present a more cost-effective solution that meets the serviceability requirements on the highway.
Project: Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade (Package 1)
Client: Main Roads WA – OMTID.
Description: Tonkin Highway is being extended from Thomas Road to South Western Highway south-east of Mundijong. ($755 million project) – tender design.
KEAust provided design management support to WSP.
Project: Tanami Road Upgrade
Waterway Design
Client: Main Roads WA.
Description: Hydrologic and hydraulic assessment and waterway design. KEAust has been commissioned by Main Roads WA to complete the waterway assessment, culvert and bridge design for the full 315km length of Tanami Road from Great Northern Highway to the Northern Territory boundary. This work supports the upgrade of Tanami Road by Main Roads.
Project: Smart Freeways Mitchell South – Intelligent Freeway Alliance (IFA)
Client: Main Roads WA / WSP.
Description: This major project includes civil, structural, electrical and ITS design and construct activities for which KEAust’s Deon Viljoen was the design manager supporting WSP who is the design NOP in the Alliance.
Project: Gelorup Drainage Assessment and Upgrade
Client: Shire of Capel.
Description: KEAust undertook an onsite assessment and survey of drainage infrastructure within the Shire of Capels Gelorup area, and presented the findings including remedial and upgrade recommendations to the shire. KEAust also progressed to detailed design for several of the recommended improvement and upgrade solutions.
Project: Bussell Highway Shared Path Feasibility and Concept Design
Client: Shire of Capel.
Description: KEAust undertook on site assessment, safety considerations and a feasibility report for a new path adjacent to Bussell Highway. The works progressed into further concept design consideration and space proofing to determine minimal impact to existing trees and safety considerations.
