KEAust has executed the following design projects for clients in Western Australia over the past 5 years:

Project: Smart Freeways Mitchell South – Intelligent Freeway Alliance (IFA)

Client: IFA / Main Roads.

Description: Preparation of as-constructed drawings for civil, structural, electrical and ITS disciplines to Main Roads WA requirements and standards.

Project: Smart Freeways Mitchell South – Intelligent Freeway Alliance (IFA)

Client: IFA / Main Roads.

Description: Preparation of asset responsibility plans.

Project: Hester to Warwick Alliance (HWA)

Client: Hester to Warwick Alliance.

Description: Preparation of as-constructed drawings for civil, structural, electrical and ITS disciplines to Main Roads WA Requirements and standards (approximately 2100 Drawings).

Project: Project Development Support

Client: Main Roads WA – Kimberley Region.

Description: Project management services for the region in scoping, planning and developing road and drainage projects in the Kimberley region.

Project: Great Northern Highway Four Floodways - Waterway Design and Concept Road Alignment

Client: Main Roads WA – Kimberley Region.

Description: Main Roads Western Australia is progressively upgrading waterway crossings on the Great Northern Highway (GNH) in the Kimberley Region with the aim to improve waterway serviceability and road geometry.   
Our work included detailed waterway designs for four floodways on Great Northern Highway as well as concept road design to present a more cost-effective solution that meets the serviceability requirements on the highway.

Project: Tonkin Highway Extension and Thomas Road Upgrade (Package 1)

Client: Main Roads WA – OMTID.

Description: Tonkin Highway is being extended from Thomas Road to South Western Highway south-east of Mundijong. ($755 million project) – tender design.

KEAust provided design management support to WSP.

Project: Bulong to Curtin Road Upgrade

Client: WML Consultants for Oz Minerals.

Description: Preliminary and detailed road and waterway design for 19 km of a mine access road.

Project: West Musgrave Project – Northern Access Road and intersection

Client: WML Consultants for Oz Minerals / BHP.

Description: Preliminary and detailed road and waterway design for 22km km of a mine access road including intersection design and layout to suit swept paths for wind turbine blades.

Project: Mt Keith De-bottlenecking Project

Client: DRA / BHP.

Description: Civil & earthworks design suite mine site expansion including extensive road alignment investigations, trenching designs, material take-offs (MTO’s).

Project: Laverton Bypass Road

Client: WML Consultants.

Description: Road design and drafting services.

Project: Seaspray Caravan Park Sewer Rising Main

Client: Bua Bua / Shire of Dongara.

Description: Preliminary and detail design of sewer rising main including approvals to Water Corporation WA standards.

Project: Mt Magnet Transport and Preliminary Stormwater Impact Assessment

Client: Bua Bua / Shire of Mt Magnet.

Description: Concept study of development area including transport and stormwater impacts and stormwater strategy plan.

Project: Fortescue River Road and Waterway Realignment

Client: BG&E Resources / Civic Pacific Mining.

Description: Preliminary and detailed design of realignment of Fortescue River Road and realignment of Fortescue River through mine site to allow for future expansion and infrastructure.

Project: East Parade / Summer Street intersection improvement design

Client: AECOM / Main Roads WA.

Description: Preliminary and detailed civil, road and drainage design for a large perth metropolitan at-grade intersection including traffic signals and lighting.

Project: Coolgardie Hwy / OK & Scotia Intersection upgrades

Client: WML Consultants / Pantoro Mining.

Description: Preliminary and detailed civil, road and drainage design for a upgrade to an existing low standard intersection to facilitate mine vehicle movements to Main Roads WA standards.

Project: Tanami Road Upgrade
Waterway Design

Client: Main Roads WA.

Description: Hydrologic and hydraulic assessment and waterway design.  KEAust has been commissioned by Main Roads WA to complete the waterway assessment, culvert and bridge design for the full 315km length of Tanami Road from Great Northern Highway to the Northern Territory boundary.  This work supports the upgrade of Tanami Road by Main Roads.

Project: Bunbury Outer Ring Road

Client: Main Roads WA.

Description: Services supplied by KEAust to this major project include design management, drainage and waterway lead, utilities and accommodation works lead and drafting.

Project: Smart Freeways Mitchell South – Intelligent Freeway Alliance (IFA)

Client: Main Roads WA / WSP.

Description: This major project includes civil, structural, electrical and ITS design and construct activities for which KEAust’s Deon Viljoen was the design manager supporting WSP who is the design NOP in the Alliance.

Project: Wittenoom Street Cycle Path upgrade

Client: City of Perth.

Description: KEAust was the successful tenderer for the concept design, detail design, tender development support and supervision for this proposed cycle path.

Project: Gelorup Drainage Assessment and Upgrade

Client: Shire of Capel.

Description: KEAust undertook an onsite assessment and survey of drainage infrastructure within the Shire of Capels Gelorup area, and presented the findings including remedial and upgrade recommendations to the shire.  KEAust also progressed to detailed design for several of the recommended improvement and upgrade solutions.

Project: Recreation Vehicle (RV) Parking and Dump Sites

Client: Shire of Capel.

Description: KEAust undertook concept designs for several locations of new RV parking and dump facilities for the Shire of Capel.

Project: Bussell Highway Shared Path Feasibility and Concept Design

Client: Shire of Capel.

Description: KEAust undertook on site assessment, safety considerations and a feasibility report for a new path adjacent to Bussell Highway.  The works progressed into further concept design consideration and space proofing to determine minimal impact to existing trees and safety considerations.

Project: Bridge Street
Shared Path Concept Design

Client: Shire of Capel.

Description: KEAust undertook on site assessment and concept design for a new section of shared path on Bridge Street.

Project: Hardstand design for Hope Downs / Marandoo / Brockman and Tom Price

Client: WML / Rio Tinto.

Description: KEAust provided civil design support, drafting and project management during the development of the hardstand designs for various mine sites.
